Mount Gughe

Mount Gughe is the crown jewel of the Gamo Highlands, rising to an elevation of approximately 4,200 metres above sea level. It is recognized as the fourth highest peak in Ethiopia and offers some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in East Africa. The mountain is characterized by its mist-covered peaks, ancient terraced slopes, and unique afro-alpine vegetation. The surrounding Gamo people have developed a sophisticated agricultural system that has sustained them for centuries in these high altitudes.
